Yoga in conjunction with medication treatment enhances possibilities of conceiving
A Harvard based study found that women who were trying for a baby were three times more likely to conceive if they took fertility focused yoga courses than those who did not. But what is it about yoga that prepares the body so well for conception and pregnancy?
1. Stress is a major problem in conceiving which affects the menstrual cycle and delays ovulation and the emotional release of yoga helps in easing anxiety and stress.
2. Yog science sees the body as the energy system which has a number of different areas or chakras. Certain yogasana’s increase the flow of energy in the second chakra called the ‘Seat of Creation’ where the reproductive organs are situated.
3. Certain poses softens the abdominal region and removes any tension from the area of the ovaries, fallopian tubes and uterus.
4 With certain reclining Poses the reproductive organs gets elongated and acquires more blood flow
5. There are also specific yoga positions that a woman can use after sex to increase her chances of conception
6. Irregular hormonal levels limits fertility and this can be corrected by Yoga. It improves glandular function which thereby normalizes hormonal levels.
7. Vigorous exercise may reduce fertility in some women’ but it is proved that ‘yoga can be done without any negative impact on fertility.’
